Nicola Yvette began ballet at the age of four. Her repetitive dance injuries forced her to seek out Pilates, yoga and strength training. Her dedication to these practices has healed her and she longs to share her insight with others. In 2000, she began her career as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor. Thereafter, she worked in a spinal rehabilitation clinic and witnessed people regain mobility after exercise training. The experience further illuminated her desire to work deeper with the connection of physiology and neurology. Her certifications include over 500+ hour in Pilates Apparatus and Pilates Mat, 300+ hour Vinyasa Yoga, Ayurveda, Personal Trainer, and Pre/Postnatal in Pilates and Yoga. Additionally, she has studied many holistic modalities including Gyrotonics, Gyrokinesis, massage and meditation.
Nicola Yvette’s clientele ranges from athletes, dancers, celebrities and models to post surgery rehab, cancer survivors; the injured and healthy alike. Her knowledge is diverse, allowing her to decode and analyze movement patterns and misalignments. She views the body as a form of expression, a testament to ones personal health and well-being. She approaches every one with detailed care and patience. Her enthusiasm and zest for her craft comes across in her teaching. Her compassion is unparalleled.
Nicola Yvette is a dynamic person and a student of life. She dances several disciplines including ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop and is currently studying ballroom. She attended UC Berkeley, University of Amsterdam and graduated at the University of Alaska with a Bachelors of Liberal Arts and Business Administration. She resides in the West Village in her new (new to her but pre-war) apartment with her husband.
